Made it Monday #10 - From Owl of Us

Hello everyone.  Happy Monday.

Did you all have a great weekend?  We didn't get up to much here.

Andy has a week off this week, so we are going to catch up on some much needed household jobs - you know the ones that you put off until whenever ! :-)

I will also be spending some time in the craft room, keeping out of his way LOL!.  Like this morning, whilst he was washing out the garage floor of all the salt from the winter roads.

Another Polkadoodles Twiggy and Toots card for your today.  Using the pre-coloured image Party/Birthday Celebration digi.

So sweet and adorable, and ready to party :-)

The die cuts I used for the outside/inside ovals are Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval Dies.  I inked all the edges of all the layers too.

Everything you see is from this wonderful collection.  Layering the image to create some depth.

And there you have it.  A quick card made this morning to share with you.

I have also been doing some more book folding and loving it - can't wait to share with you.  The heart I did the other day, I am hoping to get that decorated and finished over the next few days and I already have a couple of others to share with you, once those are decorated too :-)

I hope you all have a fabulous week.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

What's New Wednesday - a little bit of this and that.

Hello.  Happy Hump Day!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

I have a couple of things to show you today.

Firstly, one of Andy's latest little metal models.  He really is enjoying making these, so much so, that we have to order more :-)

Last night, Emily and Shannon (as part of Emily's Feb Birthday present) went to see One Republic in concert.  They had a fabulous time.

Andy and I stayed at the venue, in the restaurant and had a meal.  But as we were going to be there for a little while, we both took something along to keep us occupied - we were there from 6 till 10.30pm and had a lovely evening.

I decided to have a go at something I have been meaning to try for ages.  I came across a wonderful Facebook Group for book folding.  Crafty Hana's Book Folding Patterns Group and they are very generous to share some of their patterns, and their knowledge on book folding.

I have started off with something really simple, because I wanted to make sure I understood the principles behind it.  This pattern is by Crafty Hana herself :-)

So here is my first book folding art (other than the Christmas trees I did), using a pattern for a small heart.  I haven't decorated it or altered the cover, yet!

I am so pleased with result of this and already addicted.  So expect to see more as I progress - Shannon has already asked if I can do her name :-)

That's my something new for today.

Have a fabulous rest of the week.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

Made it Monday #9 - One of those...

Man cards!

Hello and Happy Monday.

Firstly my apologies for the lack of posts this last week.  Emily was off school poorly all week and I really didn't feel 100% either, and didn't feel at all like crafting.

We ended the week though on a good note, in that we got a new car, a Nissan Rogue.  All bells and whistles that I now have to get used too, but it's lovely to drive.

Anyways, I had a quick visit to the craft room this morning and made a card.  I have used the wonderful new realease of Twiggy and Toots, it's available for pre-order now!

This lovely scene is a pre-coloured topper from the collection.  I printed it 4 times and then used the Spellbinders Labels 8 dies to make up the pyramid card.

All the edges of all the layers were inked with CTMH Crystal Blue ink.

For the inside I used the same papers and a message panel.  Adding the tree for more interest.

The layers of the pyramid have been place on foam tape to add some depth and a little ribbon to the base layer, along with some sequins which have been topped with Flourish with a Bling Pearl dots in Teal.

To finish off the front I couldn't resist adding these fun ticket sentiments.

An effective, yet quick card.

I am entering this creation in the following challenges.

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Challenge #8: Anything Goes (closes 1 May)

Creative Fingers Challenge Blog - Challenge #76: Anything Goes (closes 23 Apr)

'Tis Tuesday - More Twiggy and Toots

Shannon is back in school today :-) But, Emily is off school with another cold.  I think she caught a chill the other day when they went to a Sugar Bush for a school visit.

I have another creation to share with you today of the wonderful new Twiggy & Toots CD collection, available for pre-order now!  Within this collection there are fabulous templates and one of those templates is a tunnel card.

I couldn't resist making up this one, I love how he is up in the tree just whiling away the hours reading and of course a nice cup of tea and a lovely cupcake.

This template is fabulous and I love all the layers.  You can use 3 layers, or add some more concertina folds and use all the layers like I have here.

Everything is from this fabulous collection.

Don't you just love the depth that it creates.  And here it is full on.

I love it.  The sentiment panels are wonderful and have some fabulous quotes - I love this one.  I added a layered flower and that little pearl is paper!  All from the CD.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Crafting from the Heart - Challenge #55: Always Anything Goes (closes 19 Apr)

Ooh La La Creations - Challenge #178: Lots of Layers (at least 5!) (closes 26 Apr)

Made it Monday #8 - Twiggy and Toots

Helloo.  Happy Monday everyone.

Shannon arrived home safely, albeit very tired, yesterday evening. I have given her the day off school today to recover from jet lag.

We are all really pleased that she enjoyed herself so much and sounds as though she had an amazing time.  I will hope to share some of the photos with you, after we have had a chance to look at them.

Anyways. on to today's make.

Another new release for Polkadoodles.  Twiggy and Toots, is available for pre-order the expected release date is 1 May :-)

I have use one of the Design sheets off the collection, this is Twiggy Hats Off, a pre-coloured image :-)

For my base card, I actually used the back of one of the tunnel card templates (that are in this collection, will have one to share with you soon).  Folded it in half and then added my design sheet elements.

Those little pearl dots, are actually paper embellishments - they are so good that I think they actually look real.

For the inside, I used one of the doors off of the tunnel card, as it fit perfectly for my inside panel.

Another shot, to show you the little depth and everything has been inked with CTMH Sorbet.

Isn't she adorable.  I love those huge eye lashes :-)

I am catching up on my laundry and things today.  After all, Shannon had a suitcase full for me :-)

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - April 2015 (closes 30 Apr)

Crafty Catz - Challenge #274: 2 or more Patterned Papers (closes 16 Apr)

No Sneak Peek, but new storage and a haul :-)

Today is the day that Shannon returns home from Spain - yay!  Currently winging her way across the Atlantic.  Soon be home and will be so happy to see her and have her back :-)

Grab a coffee, picture heavy post :-)

Yesterday, I came into the craft room to tidy my desks, which I did.

However, instead of sitting down to craft I decided to sort my ink storage out, which I have been meaning to do for ages.

Now, I tend to hoard pieces of cardboard etc, for those well, you never know moments.  You know you all do it too - don't try and deny it!

Well, we got rid of a very old rickety wardrobe last Autumn, you know, one of those ones with the hard cardboard backs.

Well, I saved the back !

The panel was perfect, because it was already scored along those two long lines and that centre section was the perfect fit for the cubby I was putting it.

After measuring and then cutting into the sides to form the box - I put it together.

Had to give it a test fit, here is where it is going. The bottom of those two big shelves.

Quick test to see if it was going to fit - and it couldn't fit any better.  It's not going to stick out like that, you'll see :-)

Then using a criss cross, sort of wine rack, I had plenty of the board left over to make the sections.  I, still may change this part to foam though - we will see.

Adding some tape along the edges to secure them better.

All done and in it's place.  Best I load it up now too :-)

Each ink pad, had its own little sponger, made those a while back with some old wooden stamp blocks that I no longer needed.  I am also going to finish the edge of the box, once I replace or decide to keep the sections I have already made :-)

Here's a little close up.

I still need to tidy up the edges of the main box, and as I said earlier may redo the sections to foam.

Now this morning whilst I was having a coffee, I was having a surf and found that there was a huge scrapbooking garage sale locally.  I wasn't going to bother, but Andy said, come on lets go for it.

We got there nice and early 8.30am, and it wasn't due to start until 9.30am, but she let us go on in :-)

Oh my goodness you should have seen it, she had over a 1000 stamps, tons of papers, inks, you name it.  I was really good, in that I didn't need any paper, so didn't buy any, well, accept the decoupage booklet below :-)

So I came away with a decent haul.  Several large stamps sets, which I have checked for cost and would probably be in the region $15 (new) if not more.

Some Magnolia stamps and Sarah Kay stamps in there too.

The little tray box, contains 1" squares in all different colours.  A decoupage Christmas booklet and some wooden stamps.  That Dragonfly one is over $20 new.

The chalk stack is acutally 3 layers of different colours.  Some ink dots, Gel Glaze pens.  Container full of little metal letters.  Some Gelatos and a little Cut'n'Emboss Christmas envelope seals.

I reckon around $350 worth of stuff - maybe a little more. I got it all for $117.  Was really pleased with this lot.

Anyways, I need to do a little more sorting out of the craft room and hopefully will be in to play tomorrow.

Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.

I'll be off in a few hours to go collect Shannon from the station.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting.

Fabulous Friday - Pink and Pretty

Hello everyone.

I hope that you have all had a most fabulous week.

Shannon is having a fabulous time in Spain, and is due home Sunday :-)  We have all missed her, even Jess the cat has been like a lost soul :-)

Haven't had much of a crafty week this week, hence the lack of posts.  But this weekend I hope to get back on track once again.

For today though, I have my bit of inspiration for the new Polkadoodles challenge that starts this week.  Our theme is Pink and Pretty.

I have used the new Work & Play 10 - Country Life Collection and once again a pre-coloured digi.

Image 1

This one is called "Foxy Friend" and can be purchased as a single digi download too.  Talking of downloads and stuff, Polkadoodles has a new website (for the shop) up and running and you can now get instant downloads of digis, bundles and collections.  Why not go check it out - there is 15% off until Sunday to celebrate the new website! (clicking on the picture will take you to the shop)

Polkadoodles Ltd

So, on to my card for this week.

All the elements are from this wonderful Country Life  collection.

I distressed all the edges of all the layers and then inked them with CTMH Sorbet. Of course I had to layer her up - she was perfect for this.

For the inside I added the same papers, a message panel and couldn't resist adding that adorable little fox too!

I added some Flourish with a Bling Rhinestones in wine, to the body of the butterfly.  Some ticket sentiments and Live, Love, Laugh banner - all from the collection.

As I said earlier - hope to be back on track this weekend.  So looking forward to having Shannon home, should be back by early evening Sunday :-)

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

No Sneak Peek Sunday - Happy Easter

Hi everyone.

I hope your Easter weekend is going well.

I am enjoying some family time, which is why there was no post yesterday for Sketch it Saturday, and as yet no sneak peek Sunday :-)

Andy has made another model which I will show you at the end of this post - it's fabulous.

In the meantime, yesterday I managed to get a fabulous haul from a garage sale!

More Spellbinders!

Spellbinders, Provocraft and down in the bottom right - Sizzix set.

Well over $300 worth of dies and I got it all for $35!!  Was so pleased with this.  Some of them are also discontinued sets.

So much more new dies, that today I am going to sort some storage out for them.  I already put them on some card stock and magnetic strips, ready to go in some cases.  Then I have to sort our where to put them. I might even get around to organising my inks today too, something that I have been meaning to do for ages.

Anyways, here is Andy's latest metal model - Lancaster Bomber

He is really enjoying making these models and of course he gets to spend some time with little old me :-)

Happy Easter everyone.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.
