Celebrate the Winter!

Yep, in Canada we celebrate the Winter.  Well, if we didn't we would be a sad lot of people wouldn't we, as we have snow probably 6 months of the year :-)

Anyways, one of the big celebrations here in Ottawa, is Winterlude and it is a festival that celebrates Winter and has thousands of visitors each year.

Whilst Andy was home last weekend , he decided to take the girls to the Snow Kingdom and managed to get some photos taken.

Firstly this is my girls trying out for the bob-sleigh team for the 2018 Winter Olympics LOL!

Andy, of course, had to try out too!  However, he had great difficulty getting back out again and had to roll backwards to get out - ha ha ha !

Took some photos of just a few of the amazing ice sculptures too, I wish they would put a black background or tent as they would show up so much better!

I hope you can see the fabulous details on these sculptures!!

If you click on the photos they should come up a little bigger :-)

Aren't they fabulous.  If you want to see more about Winterlude click on the word.

So, just a bit of culture for you today :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting.

Wow, fingers crossed for a gold then in 2018!! Those sculptures are spectacular, especially the horses. Six months of snow...we can only just cope with 6 days over here....remember?! xx

Aren't you nice to share the photos. My daughter coaches a little girl whose father does ice sculptures and he makes ones that you can pour vodka through and drink from a tube extending out of it. Not for your average party! These sculptures are gorgeous. TFS.

Oh wow, those ice sculptures are amazing!! What talent that takes!! When I lived in Lake Placid, they used to have snow sculptors and watching them work was incredible!! The bobsled pictures are so fun!! Also when I lived in LP, I went down the bobsled course a few times and talk about g-force!! It looks like you had a wonderful time with your family!! Have a great day :)

What??? No roll out backward pictures? I'm certain that would have been a strategic move to getting placed on a team! Those pictures were outstanding!!
All I get to see around here are frozen construction men building houses. Your images were MUCH nicer!
Happy weekend.
