Emily is home sick from school, I don't think she has had a full week in school for several weeks now. So, on Tuesday, I took her to the Drs and they have done blood tests, urine and she has an ultrasound test on her abdomen on Friday morning. Just don't know what is wrong at the moment, but she is definitely not herself.
I spent a little time in the craft room, yesterday morning, making this card. I was email chatting with a friend the other day and saying that I very rarely make a card for a specific challenge. Well, this is one of those rare occasions, as I really like this digi that you can get free for the challenge. It is a digi by Heather Valentin of Lacy Sunshine, and you have to email to get the digi, the details are at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog.
I love these colours and they are becoming my favourite, so be prepared to see more of this colour combo!
The image was coloured with my Spectrum Noir markers, I am seriously considering buying some of the next sets to add to my collection. I actually went round the whole of the image with the very pale pink.
I doubled up my two ribbons to make it pop - love the combination of the two ribbons and they tied together really well. In the top left corner I added three little brads. Both the sentiment and the image are raised up on some foam tape to add a little depth.
The sentiment stamp "Special Friend" is and InkaDinkaDo All Occasions Inchies stamp. I inked all the edges of the layers and used the same ink for the sentiment. The papers are from a Colorbok Paper stack called Spring Morning and the background teal/blue layers are plain Recollections card stock.
For the inside layer, I used the same outer papers and then the little flowers are from a See D's Stamp set called Thank You for...
I have to just remind you all how much I appreciate all you wonderful comments and words of encouragement - it means so much to me.
This card is being entered in the following challenge.

Pretty card, Karon. Love the colors. Love the sassy image you colored so beautifully. Hope your daughter is better soon.
ReplyDeleteI like the subtle effect of using the light pink around the entire image. She sorta glows! Great card and not that I'm an enabler (ok, yes I am) but I think you should invest in more markers because your images are beautiful. I'd hate to try to think up what you can do with more variations in color!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love that sweet image and how you added the pink around the edges. I do that often with light blue too now and then. Love the colors so I won't mind seeing more often! Sorry that your daughter hasn't been feeling well. I hope that the tests will show what's wrong and get it taken care of. My gown daughter has been feeling bad for over a year and has now found out from tests that it is an overactive gall bladder and she is having it taken out tomorrow. We also learned that she's been having problems with since she was a teen and she is 34 now. It just gradually got much worse. I'll be thinking and praying for your Emily.
